Redeeming love is a love book written by American writer Francine Rivers. Here we are presenting a brief of that book.
God’s Love Is Unconditional
Young Angel displayed resistance to God, and this came from her mother’s frequent prayers about her father. None of these prayers came to pass. This lead to Angel perceiving that God refused to answer the prayers, and so God was locked out of her life. On meeting Michael later in life, she was able to experience true God’s love.
Michael, on his part, displayed patience and understanding in helping Angel, this is because God was guiding him and he knew of God’s unconditional love. The barriers Angel built to protect herself began breaking and eventually she started opening up to Michael with feelings for him developing. She also hurt Michael a lot after this with her constant running away and being unfaithful to him in the early part of their time together. God never gave up on Angel despite all her horrific actions, and he showed her His unconditional love.
Unconditional Love Brings Forgiveness
Guilt pushes Angel and Paul away from each other and also away from Michael. Hate also clouds Paul’s mind in a way that he doesn’t view Angel as anything but a prostitute and works to destroy her relationship with Michael. Through love, each one of them forgives the other and is forgiven, removing guilt and bringing joy and hope. The unconditional love also unchains the heart from ties binding it. Building from her experience, Angel builds worlds around herself, but Michael’s abundant love breaks these barriers, and in the process, she freed to love and live as God intended.
Unconditional Love Transforms Hearts: Redeeming Love Book
Angel’s heart is wounded and is yet to heal from her life ordeal, but unconditional love from God and Michaels’s love transforms her. She can forgive herself and stops blaming herself for her father, leaving her mother. This allows her to understand that her past cannot determine your future. In the end, she transforms into a person full of grace, mercy, humility, and love.
Redeeming Love Book: Faith And Doubts On Faith
Angel’s experiences bring hope in her life. She wonders about its effectiveness, power, and purpose. She consistently raises the issue about whether she is good enough for Michael, given she had committed horrific sins. For this, Michael explains to her that in God’s sees all sins are equal, and that is ready to forgive all signs unconditionally.
She also asks if someone can hear God speaking. For this, Michael reason with her that God speaks to everyone in different ways. One incident from her childhood where a priest used to visit her mother, who was a prostitute, makes her question the honesty and integrity of the priest. Although Michael tries to answer some of these concerns, he cannot provide all the answers.
Michael had faith in God, as evidenced by his persistent belief in mission from God. For this reason, God showed his faithfulness in him throughout his life. Eventually, God blessed him with children and success in endeavors as he remained happily married. This here is a clear indication of the fruits of having faith in God.
